Course Description:
This is a graduate seminar class (CS594) offered as CS454 for some technical reasons. This quarter we will look into research in the development and application of data mining algorithms, focus on web usage mining and using GPU as a parallel platform for data mining operations.
Prerequisites:
Open primarily to graduate students.
Software Tools:
Required - Email
Optional (for access online lecture notes) - Adobe Acroread and/or MS PowerPoint
Grading Policy:
Presentation 30%, Midterm 30%, Final 30%, Attendance 10%. Extra credit will be given to the students who actively participate in class discussion.
